The Motorcycle Diaries DVD originated at South
Fork Pictures with executive producer Robert Redford, and producers
Michael Nozik and Karen Tenkhoff of Wildwood Enterprises. They
immediately saw the project as a prime opportunity to work with
Walter Salles. To bring the coming-of-age Motorcycle Diaries
DVD to the screen, the filmmakers enlisted the aid of someone
who had been close to the material since its first publication
-- Italian journalist and documentation specialist Gianni Minà.
To balance the Motorcycle Diaries DVD's portrayal of the two
main characters, Rivera drew from both Guevara's travel diary
and Granado's own account of the trip. On the day of the Motorcycle
Diaries DVD release, experience the rich and complex human and
social topography of the Latin American continent as it is unveiled
in all its glory as two friends experience life at its fullest.
The Motorcycle Diaries DVD, directed by Walter Salles (Central
Station, Behind the Sun), is adapted by José Rivera from
the journals of two real-life young Argentines, Alberto Granado
and Ernesto Guevara de la Serna - the latter of whom would become
"El Che." Own this inspiring film on the day of the
Motorcycle Diaries DVD release to see
Ernesto and Alberto discover an affinity for humanity within
themselves, and a determination to change the world.
